Since 1949, we've supplied manufacturers, contractors, and product engineers with consistent, application-ready solutions that meet demanding industrial requirements. Our History
deVan Sealants was originally founded in 1949 by Arthur and Ruth DeVan, who began the business by producing oil-based caulks, glazing compounds and putties for hardware stores in the St. Louis area. By the mid-1950s, their company—then known as Durable Putty Products—supplied nearly every hardware store in the region.
In 1966, the company formally became deVan Sealants, Inc. As market needs shifted, so did our focus. What began as a retail operation evolved into a full-scale manufacturing business supplying OEM sealants and adhesives directly to other manufacturers. Today, we continue to operate from our 42,000 sq. ft. facility in St. Louis, where we manufacture, package and ship industrial-grade products to clients across the U.S.
Throughout our history, we’ve remained committed to consistency, product integrity, and responsive service. That foundation is what allows us to support clients with confidence today.

All deVan products are manufactured to meet the practical needs of industrial environments. Our cross-linked butyl compounds are designed to improve bond strength and long-term performance, offering resistance to weathering, movement, and chemical exposure. Every formulation is 100% asbestos-free, non-toxic, and non-hazardous under normal use and containment.
We offer a full line of extruded tapes, pumpables, caulks and custom sealants that support a wide range of structural applications. Our in-house R&D team also works directly with OEM clients to develop custom formulations and colors based on project-specific requirements.
