540.11 Elastic Insulation Tape
Description
540.11 is an elastic insulation compound designed for use as a gasket and sealing material for refrigeration, electrical and crack patch applications. Adhesion is excellent to dry, dust-free, commercially clean rubber, metal, asphalt, concrete, glass, plastic, wood and painted surfaces. The surface tack and adhesion of 540.11 will increase with time. It can be molded by hand to fit any shape and will bond firmly to itself without the need for any supplemental adhesive or heat. 540.11 is freeze-thaw stable. It is compatible with most paints but some oil-based paints will stain, test on a small area before applying. 540.11 does not affect rubber or plastics. It is not resistant to organic solvents.

- Use as a soft electrical tape.
- A seal for pipe entrances into concrete walls and concrete pipe joints.
- For sealing casket vaults, septic tanks and manhole covers.
- As a repair medium in concrete surfaces, parking decks and driveways.
- Repairing roof cracks, flashing and copings. Superior to roof patching mastic.
- For sealing cracks in all metal, concrete and wood utilities in the agricultural field.Air condition and ventilation ducts
- Storage hatches on cargo ships or barges.
- As an insulation and anti-squeak in metal assemblies
- As a sound damping tape applied to wheel wells, floors and doors in automobiles.
- A corrosion inhibitor between metal substrates exposed to the environment
