U579 Plastic Sealer

Description

U579 Plastic Sealer is formulated to bond to various plastic surfaces and is used extensively in the construction industry to seal between materials such as glass, wood, plastic and masonry. Typical applications include the sealing of lap joints in metal or plastic building panels or as a hand-applied caulk between masonry walls and metal window frames. In general, U579 sealer can be used anywhere a pliable material with high initial adhesive and sealing qualities is required. U579 Plastic Sealer is supplied as an extruded, preformed tape or bead in a range of sizes for convenient application.

The product has excellent resistance to water and water vapor and is nonhardening over the service temperature range. It adheres quickly and firmly to most clean, dry surfaces and will conform to and fill any slight surface irregularities. Non-corrosive to most metal surfaces and does not affect most rubber or plastic surfaces.

Application

Surfaces to be sealed must be clean, dry and free of foreign matter such as loose paint, dust and other contaminants. Oily surfaces should be wiped clean with a clean cloth dampened with solvent. Adhesion is excellent to most commercially clean surfaces.
